When director Joseph Levy first told me he wanted to make a feature documentary centered around food and restaurants, I was a bit skeptical, not believing the subject matter would offer much emotional content.  But once we started shooting, I could understand his vision.  The completed film often brings tears to the eyes of those who watch it, showing that regardless of the "hook" that is being used to tell the story, it is the sense of human connection made possible through documentary filmmaking that is so powerful.
