As it was my first feature film, making Autumn was an experience that I will cherish forever.  Fellow film school graduate Ra'up McGee had written a French film and asked me to shoot it for him.  He was already going to have his hands full as a first-time director, screenwriter, and producer of the film, so he completely handed over control of the imagery to me.  It was a big responsibility, but one that I relished.  Shot-by-shot, scene-by-scene, I visualized and storyboarded the entire film, making rough sketches of the shots, often while riding the Paris metro during the four months that I lived there to make the film.  Since we were shooting on film, it was so rewarding to see the dailies a few days after shooting each scene and watch the lighting schemes and storyboarding come together.   The experience was a nice contrast to my usual documentary work, both in the creative approach as well as the method of working with the crew, which became like one huge family compared to the tiny crews that I am used to.  Autumn was printed on film for its festival run and theatrical release and is a project that I will always be proud of.

"Erin Harvey's cinematography is sensational; somehow his images split the difference between the mythical Paris that McGee's script tries to capture and the real one."  -Salon.com

"Autumn is filled with exquisite cinematography that adds plenty of style." -NYC MovieGuru

"Handsomely shot by director of photography Erin Harvey" -Los Angeles Times
